Help with Access Point

So I got a verizon mifi jetpack, and have a belkin share max n300 with external drives connected. I want to connect to my external drives on the belkin router (guess make it an access point?) I only own 1 laptop. I went into the belkin share max n300 settings. Turned off DHCP server on Belkin. Both MiFi and belkin have same SSID, security, and password. I selected in the belkin settings "Enable Access Point". IP Address of MiFi is 192.168.1.1, with a range of 192.168.1.10~200. I put in

Static IP configuration

I would like to setup CCTV at my house and have the DVR. I am told that I will require a Static IP from my ISP. Before I go ahead with that I just wanted a little information. 1)Is there a free way to get a Static IP as my ISP is charging £10/mth on top of my package? 2)I just need my DVR to have a Static IP and all my other devices that are connected to the router to have a Dynamic. So by purchasing one Static IP would this be a possible setup? 3)How would I confure my Router to do this? T

IP address spoofing

Hey guys, recently I came across this plugin. I was wondering how it works (or maybe doesn't). Most of the sites still recognize my actual IP / location. Here's a screen from two different sites.. the censored IPs are the same and correspond with my location. Link And from Google.. Thanks

New laptop like slow connection

Just bought a new acer laptop and the connection is extremely slow both on wireless and with Ethernet cable. Max speed is 30 Mbps but currently running at 1-5 Mbps Works fine on desktop and ISP confirmed no problems on their side I'm fairly amateurish with networks so could anyone let me know if I'm missing something obvious?

Wireless vs. Powerline

I have a small wireless network built around 802.11g access point (which is also a DSL "modem"). I also have a small gigabit Ethernet LAN consisting of my primary PC, a NAS device, and my DSL modem/router/access point. During some remodeling, my PC is going to have to be off my LAN for about a week. During that time I will need access to the NAS device. Assuming there are no considerations other than speed (and I'm not aware of any other considerations), should I get a wireless ada

Unable to access wired Lan devices from wireless LAN

I had a wired modem separately and a netgear WGR614v9. The modem got damaged and now i bought a MODEM with Router built in. (Dlink DSL 2750U). I have configured the router to access my ISP's internet. It works fine.I get internet on the wired as well as wireless devices. The problem is i am unable to access my wired lan devices(Shared folders on PC etc.) from my wireless lan devices. I get Destination Unreachable message when i try to ping LAN device from wireless device and vice versa. I have no

Problems connecting to my TP Links.

I have been having this problem for a few weeks now and I am out of ideas. My computer is fine connecting directly to the router, it runs perfectly fine and has internet access. When I connect my computer to a TP link though, it is connected but it stays as an unidentified network with no internet access. The wireless part of the TP link is also having some trouble lately but majority of the time works with other devices. I'm not sure whether I can reset my TP links or set up a new IP address,

Windows 7 networking issue

Hello all, My setup when it worked: 4 PCs, 1 hard wired, 3 wireless My setup when it did not work: 4 PCs, 2 hard wired, 2 wireless Problem: the hard wired PCs cannot see each other, via ping or homegroup. So if I connect to wireless with the PC that is newly hardwired it connects to homegroup and is able to be pinged, if I pull the dongle and connect it to the ethernet it cannot be seen. The wireless PCs can connect to both wired PCs and share files, however the wired PCs cannot share betwee

Yahoo Messenger

Hi, Can I find out the date when I added someone to my Yahoo! mail contacts list? Or when we "became friends," (similar to Facebook)? Many thanks!

Network issue (Keep getting random/vague disconnections)

Hello. This issue has been bothering me for a whole day already. I'm using the Internet via WiFi (through my laptop) But this problem occurred to all the devices (phones/tablets...etc) at home including the PC which is connecting through the router's ethernet port. The internet works normally for a while. And then suddenly the browser stops working. Whenever I try to access a web-page it would say that (there isn't a connection/ could not connect to...) Weird thing is that when this occurs wh

Faulty Card or Software Issue?

I just purchased a brand new Lenovo Y50 Ultra HD Laptop and I immediately noticed my internet is terrible. My brother also has a Lenovo laptop and is connected to the same router and has a very good connection. I contacted Leneovo tech support and they adjusted some settings, but did not fix the issue. Sometimes download speeds are terrible. Ping randomly spikes. The Network Card driver is up to date Running a ping test in cmd shows no packet loss but pingtest.net shows a 6-12% packet loss

What Kind of network device do I need?

I run a Linux-pc. My connection is aWired broadband connection. But I want to connect my pc to the modem/router through wire and other devices (laptop, android) wirelessly. What kind of devices I should look for? And I found there are two kinds of router available - wireless router with modem and without modem. I didn't understand the differences... Also if I want to create a hotspot THROUGH my pc, should I get a wireless onboard card, or usb wireless adapter?

Buying 2 routers that support bridge/repeater/WDS

I'm looking for a way to cover a big house with wi-fi. I've already tested with WRT54GL and it wasn't enough, so my idea is to buy 2 routers with good coverage and link them into bridge/repeater/WDS mode (I don't even know the difference to be honest). Since I've never done that before, I'm looking for an advice on which routers to buy and how to make it work altogether? At first, 2x Unifi LR LongRange was a promising solution, buy as far as I understand it, they both need to be physically conn

Linksys router drops connection every few hours (wired and wireless)

Hello all, I've had the same Linksys wireless router (WRT54GS) for years and it's been good up until yesterday when it started to drop the connection (both wired and wireless) every few hours. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it works again for a few more hours. I don't do any large loads (no torrents or HD streaming, but occasional Youtube). Is there a problem with my ISP? The Comcast router always shows it has a signal and the TV works fine, so I'm not sure if it's the router or the ISP.

How to test modem without service?

Hello, I have some modems I want to test, but don't have service for. How can I mimick a signal so the modem will at least show me that the cable input is good? Is there a way to put "x" amount of voltage through a cable line just to see if the modem believes there is a signal coming into it? Basically I want to make the cable line go green when I hookup a test cable line, provided that the modem is good. Any ideas?
