Newbie Questions • Re: How to reinstall Network Manager on Mint 17

If you still have your live Mint 17 DVD, you can insert that disc (do not boot it, boot your installed Mint on the hard drive), then go to Menu > Administration > Software Sources > Additional Repositories > activate cdrom: Mint 17 > Update The CacheThat adds the DVD to your repositories and could possibly provide you with the dependencies you need. You don't want to leave the cdrom active during normal usage, because then you would have to leave the disc in the CD drive.Statistic...

You could reinstall. I'd boot to the DVD with the XFCE and then run those commands on it to see what it was using that worked, and then set up the KDE the same way.Code: xrandr; inxi -G; modprobe -c |grep hdmhttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail ... ldID=13815You could upgrade to the latest kernel and headers for the system, see if that solves it.Some have solved their problem by using this package. They have one for "trusty" there.http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/x11/ ... ideo-...

I have a laptop at the minute with 120GB SSD and 500GB HDD, the SSD is starting to get a bit low on space so I plan to upgrade this to 250GB or maybe even 500GB SSD. I also want the secondary HDD upgraded to 1TB. Is there anyway to just completely clone these two existing drives......

[ubuntu] After reinstall Linux Mint grub menu gone with Ubuntu on LVM

Hi, my problem is a bit unique in that I encrypted a whole partition /dev/sda6 with LUKS. I repartitioned the encrypted partition to three new partitions: / swap and /home. Here I installed Ubuntu, I believe 13.04. For the same installation I used /dev/sda1 as /boot. I am quite sure it was after this that I installed Linux Mint 15. I just found out that I needed to upgrade the latter distro which I proceeded to do upgrading it to Linux Mint 17 from the LiveCD. When it came to the partitioni...
