Aldo was all talk, McGregor is all ACTION!

Conor insists from day one that this is the McGregor show and everyone is there to see him fight... The show goes on, there is no talk about him being the co main to Lawler/MacDonald even with the "champion" puling out

Jose insists Conor is nothing but a loud mouth and a big payday, would get destroyed by the guys he has already beaten but is happy to get the payday he finally deserves... willing to risk losing his big payday to the supposed "Prince" of the division

Aldo denies injury from the get go, insists he could beat McGregor with one leg etc... Medically cleared to fight by American doctors, insists that he cannot risk it tho

Conor goes to great lengths to get a rise out of Aldo: steals the belt, tells him that he is going to die in Brazilian in Brazil, continually harasses him on press tour... Aldo continues to talk about how he has something "planned" for the next time they met, like how he was gonna prove that he was the rightful king of Dublin lol

McGregor: "I will talk to Jose Aldo while I break him"

"I am going to sprint straight for him. I won’t give him a second. I will be talking to him while I’m whooping on him at the same time. The same way I do with them all. I feel Aldo has made a career out of beating short stocky wrestlers that are not good on the feet. They’re intimidated on the feet and shoot from half away across the cage. I’m going to go in, and I’m going to break him. I’ll be on top of him from the bell. I will break Jose Aldo. http://...

Jose Aldo: It's 'disrespectful' that Conor McGregor's name keeps coming up

http://www.foxsports.com/ufc/story/j...ming-up-101014 Aldo on McGregor: "I'm really focused on Chad Mendes right now and I do think it's a little bit disrespectful," Aldo told FOX Sports. "This fight hasn't even happened. There's nothing set yet. I do need to keep my feet on the ground and keep focused on Chad Mendes and not think of anyone else." "With fighters that are very outspoken and very loud like that, obviously you're going to hear about it," Aldo sai...

Mcgregor vs Aldo

If this happened now with Mcgregor being a 3-1 dog what do you do on a bet? ...

Aldo's leg kicks > McGregor's gimpy knee...

Aldo's leg kicks > McGregor's gimpy knee...that's a wrap. Once Aldo handles Mendes the UFC seems hell-bent on sacrificing McGregor to Aldo for the $$$. Aldo is obviously annoyed by the McG hype and endless chatter. The Brazilian will make an example of the Dubliner with a brutal KO/TKO. Does anyone honestly believe otherwise? ...

McGregor is a big Aldo fan

Anyone saw him behind Dana and Lorenzo? He was cheering alot when Aldo knock downed Mendez late in the 1st and also in succeeding rounds. ...

Aldo's gameplan vs McGregor?

Let's assume the GOAT defeats Siver and gets a title shot against Aldo, what would Aldo's gameplan be? Or McGregors for that matter... It is very hard to compare them since they haven't fought each other.. but personally i think Aldo will be too fast for McGregor and will keep it standing... but that might be a mistake. Can't say for sure to be honest... What do you think??? ...

Serious McGregor/Aldo question

Not here for hyperbole or huggers. Serious question. I was psyched about McGregor challenging for the belt, and was confident he'd make a fight of it. I think this was because I had forgotten how great Aldo could be. After Aldo's performance last night I've suddenly lost interest in that fight. Anyone else feel this? Maybe it's because I actually like McGregor's personality (I take it all with a grain of salt. He's entertaining as opposed to obnoxious for me) and I don't think I'll enjoy seeing...

Aldo vs. McGregor, stadium in Ireland or Brazil?

Say McGregor gets past Siver and Aldo and McGregor is booked, Where will it take place? Both have talked about doing the fight in a stadium in their respective countries, or could they just do it in Vegas instead? I would think holding it in Ireland would be out because the time difference would hurt PPV buys. ...

Could Aldo vs McGregor do 1 million buys?

I think it could. I don't think people have realized the drawing potential of Conor McGregor. He is the first MMA artist to headline mainstream media outlets such as MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News. Even people who have never witnessed an MMA bout now know the name of Conor McGregor. If the UFC set up a card where they put other big names on it like Cain Velasquez I think that they can get back to numbers when Brock Lesnar was in town. ...

Do you honestly feel the Aldo we saw Saturday will beat McGregor?

So scared of gassing he only throws in the last 20 seconds (or after it). Tentative and constantly on the defensive, waiting for his OPPONENT to screw up. Do you honestly not see how fast Conor is going to light him up? This fight won't even be competitive. ...

McGregor: The chin does not recover. I will hit Aldo and he will fall

Conor McGregor Real Talk: No Bullsh*t

It seems nearly impossible to have any real discussion regarding this kid, either you are a bandwagon nuthugger or hate him immensely, clearly his personality is polarizing and rubs a lot of people the wrong way but I digress...I would like to have a somewhat educated discussion here. Obviously McGregor is talented, both in the cage and on the microphone. The comparisons to Chael however are erroneous and I don't believe they have anything in common other than their ability to enrage people on...

MMA Rundown #5: Aldo's Back, McGregor's Here, And Siver's Effed

I stumble through name selection, Phil Davis, and the featherweight title picture. Check the link! And enjoy. http://mma-movement.com/mma-rundown-...-sivers-effed/ Joseph Waldorf and Chip Melendez (© Greg Savage & Jordan Breen) put on a fantastic fight. But before I get into all of that, here are a few other tidbits I took away from UFC 179. Can we get some sort of petition going to find Gilbert Burns a more Brazilian sounding name? Maybe it’s the fault of my subconscious cultural expect...

Aldo vs. McGregor - Conor's chances - Let's break it down!!!

CAUTION: Long Read I don't expect many people to read this and I can understand that, it's quite long. I also don't expect many replies simply because of how long the OP is. But I guess it's worth a try to at least get at least a half-decent discussion going about the technical aspect. Let's break it down from a stylistic POV. Let's match these two awesome strikers up and let's show some detail. It's nice to have a real discussion sometimes. I wouldn't count Conor out at all on the feet ag...
