Conor McGregor Exposes UFC Fighters with Bad Footwork

The first thing anyone watching Conor fight for the first time notices is his footwork. - In his most recent fight Conor McGregor made a point talk about how his ability to move was an advantage over other MMA fighters because of flat-footed stances brought in from Muay Thai. So the question was posed in our Technique Group, is MMA currently experiencing a change in how fighters employ footwork? Our discussion follows below and taking part are Bloody Elbow writers . . . Sherdog writer Pat Wy...

Fighters Need to Promote ThemSelves

Fighters have 2 Jobs 1 to fight 2 to be a promoter If you don't agree with me Look at Chael,Biping,Mcgregor. All 3 promote there fights very well and are compensated as a result. You only have to look at Chaels career no one knew who he was till he opened his mouth then boom he became mega star got himself a job at fox and was involved in a 900k ppv because he could talk. And earnt himself millions.Bisping has never earnt a titleshot and probably never will but he Is among the highest paid fi...

Royce Gracie: Brazilian fighters lack strategy

Quote: Anderson Silva, the man who won the first UFC gold in years for his country in 2006, believes that his countryman recently lost three of the four championship belts because they stopped evolving. Royce Gracie, who dominated the UFC during an era where belts didn’t even exist, has a different take on the situation. "It’s a strategy game. You can’t just be tough and talented," Gracie told MMAFighting.com. "People outside (of Brazil) knows how to work wit...

Declining fighters you would love to see have a Lawler/Hunt esque run.

It wasnt long ago when guys like Lawler, Hunt, Arlovski, even Matt Brown were considered irrelevant guys on the decline.....guys who wouldn't make waves in today's MMA, much yet, fight for a UFC title. And here we are today, the aforementioned are all top contenders in their division. If you had to pick a fighter who's on the decline to make a comeback story for themselves, who would it be? For me it would be, Gomi Shogun Mike Brown yama Varner ...

M93p SATA Power (or lack of) - bad move lenovo

We've been buying Lenovo towers for the last 6 years (aprox 500 machines) and after the latest batch of M93p towers, we're never buying any more. The latest batch to be delivered no longer have any spare SATA power connectors, there are only two connectors (DVD + HDD), one on each of the two power cables connected to the motherboard (i.e not directly to the PSU). This means we can't install additional SSDs anymore. This sucks, now we can't install second drives to these ...

Does anyone here enjoy watching fighters get KTFO or hurt really bad?

I know it sounds a little cruel and sadistic, but its a really violent and cruel sport, and part of the enjoyment for me has always been watching these fighters get absolutly destroyed or pummeled to a pulp or knocked out unconcious, i know these are human beings but they signed up to get hit in the face. IF im payin 50 dollars i want some blood or someone get laid out, i hate decisions and i hit pitter patter punches, i watch the ufc to see someone get hurt badly, anyone feel the same way?? I k...

The 3 UFC fighters who promote anti-assimilation Multiculturalism

Kelvin Gastelum and Ricardo Lamas followed the example of Mr. Brown Pride himself, Cain Velasquez, coming in with their Mexican flags, with Mexican music playing and praising 'their people' in the interview using their native language. Multiculturalism is anti-assimilation. When you bring your culture to America, refuse to learn the language, refuse to respect and obey our laws and the Constitution, refuse to assimilate into the American society, why are you here? It's not American patriotism wh...

Great fighters who look bad because of their fans?

Top of my list would be The Chris. Great fighter with a good personality. Not quite humble, but not arrogant. I don't follow him on any social media, but I haven't seen him in headlines for anything negative. Unfortunately his fans prop him up like he is one of the all time greats, and it's not even done jokingly like with McGregoat. They tend to exaggerate his abilities when they don't even need to be exaggerated in the first place, so it just becomes ridiculous. Who else should be up here? ...

Dana White: Lawler-Hendricks 3 not a bad idea; MacDonald title shot not guaranteed

Quote: LAS VEGAS – A trilogy fight between newly crowned UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and former titleholder Johny Hendricks could be on the horizon, according to UFC President Dana White. Despite the fact No. 1 contender Rory MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) was sitting cageside at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center and had previously been promised a title shot, White said on FOX Sports 1’s post-fight show that a third fight between Lawler and Hendricks could be...

Reebok deal. CM Punk signing. Lawler winning. Good or Bad for UFC?

With everything that has transpired in the last few days what do you make of it? What do you think is good and what is bad for UFC? IMO Reebok deal is a good idea but think it hurts the fighters build their brand. CM Punk signing is ridiculous when you think about how random it is and the fact he has no MMA fights. I mean I would rather see a guy like Askren get signed but I guess as far as numbers and putting asses in the seats, Punk will do that. If he is successful than we will all warm u...

Does lack of global competition make American fighters appear more elite?

When you look at the current UFC Roster almost every single champion is an American. (Werdum is technically an interim champion, most people probably think Cain can and will beat him when they fight). I suppose that some could argue that the majority of American champions also come from a collegiate or olympic wrestling background. But I personally think there's more to it than that. I think when you have a significantly higher number of Americans competing, naturally you are going to have...

UFC is making female fighters look bad

I've been a fan of WMMA since the early days and I'm very happy that the UFC has female fighters now. But boy, they're messing it all up. A lot of casual fans are under the impression that women can't fight and considering a lot of the fights we've seen in the UFC lately, one can see how they come to that conclusion. I don't know if anyone watched the fight between Marion Reneau and Alexis Dufresne last night, but that was just painful to watch. Because the female divisions are so shallow, the ...
