Air Canada fares on ITA vs ac.com

So I'm looking at traveling YYC to YVR July 31 through August 3. ITA displays attractive fares of about $320CAD all in for various flights throughout the day. Aircanada.com however only gives a minimum of $424 on a not so great timing.

Do you know what the issue here is? Is ITA known to give erroneous data?

Air Canada reaches tentative 10-year deal with pilots

Not much details but just saw this published on ctvnews.ca: http://www.ctvnews.ca/business/air-c...ract-1.2040892 Quote: Air Canada (TSX:AC.B) says it has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing its pilots for a new 10-year contract. Details were not released, pending ratification by the union and approval by the airline's board of directors. The new agreement covering approximately 3,000 pilots includes certain openers and benchmarks over the 10 year pe...

Air Canada delay

my daughter and I were delayed several uncomfortable nocturnal hours (>6) at LHR awaiting a flight to Toronto with Air Canada for stop over prior to flying the next day onward to Cancun. Because we reached our final destination on time, they refused to pay up compensation, plus the hotel booking I had made in Toronto for the night was neither used nor compensated either. Any thoughts? ...

Air Canada and the "72 hr Visa Exemption (Shanghai)"

72 hrs Exemption Visa (China) : I’m planning a stop-over in Shanghai, of less than 3 day (total : 65 hrs), on this leg of my trip : YQB-YYZ-PVG (65 hrs stopover) PVG-BKK I know (from the China Visa Web Site) that, with a short stop-over like this (less than 72hrs), I do not need a Chineese Visa, and can apply for the « 72-hour transit Visa Exemption », directly at PVG airport. I also read somewhere (travel forum) that a passenger was denied boarding in Calgary , (en route to Shanghai via Vanco...

Air Canada's policy regarding travelling alone with a child

I'm Canadian. When flying back to Japan from Canada in August alone with my son (who has both Japanese and Canadian nationality), the check-in agent asked to see my wife's travel consent letter. She asked it like she assumed that I had it (which I did, but that's besides the point). I showed it to her, and that was that. My question is, if I didn't have the letter, would she have denied me boarding? We weren't going to a third country - he was a citizen of both of the countries that we were trav...

BA booking with Air Canada sector on one ticket

I just booked an itinerary into Canada which involves BA for the transatlantic leg and then connecting onto an Air Canada domestic service for the last leg. All in one booking via Travelocity/lastminute. The Air Canada leg was showing on BA.com up until a few hours after booking but has now dissapeared. Is this usual? Should BA still be able to check me through? It's not the end of the world, given that I can probably print my own boarding pass from aircanada.com and would have to recheck my...

Air Canada/BA Booking Upgrade Question...

Hello All: I am hoping to do a paid upgrade from Bizo to First and made a booking on Air Canada (YYZ-LHR and then CPT on BA) and am wondering at what point will BA allow me to do a paid upgrade? It looks like they aren't in control of the booking - when I click to do paid upgrade, the following message appears: Sorry, it is not possible to change this booking on ba.com. Please contact your booking/travel agent. I have checked in online with AC and the BA portion of the flight is tomorrow. T...

Luggage for Air Canada

I am flying Air Canada in two weeks and it appears they have taken an aggressive role on carry on luggage. There quoted restrictions are no longer liner inches but a fix measurements of 21 1/2 X 15 1/2 X 9 inches. It appears to me that most in the news video have a problem with the width. I checked my 20 inch and low and behold the luggage company didn't include the wheels in their measurement. If I don't pack anything in the lid I may make it. Any suggestion on a replacement. http://glo...

Air Canada almost lost my luggage today... close call

Checked in today in priority check in at YYC 1 hour prior to departure. Tag was put on... with the orange sticker - the whole tag seemed loose and I questioned the check in lady at the desk. She said it was fine. Not wanting to agitate her further, I left and went for the flight. Then, I arrived in YYZ. After a 30 min wait at the carousel (with everyone else waiting too - typical luggage wait at YYZ), my bag finally showed up with a white and red "expedited" hand written manual tag...

Canada Air Biz with UA Points?

Anyone ever able to use UA points for a Canada Air Biz flight? I'm soon to be 1k again (8k miles away) and checking for CDG-YYZ on the 787. Finding saver econ all over but no biz flights at all, saver or otherwise. Is this a flight that never ever opens in biz for UA FF miles? There are only 21 premium economy seats on the 787. Would a UA FF tix from a 1k get premium econ or good old fashioned econ? Thanks all. ...

Air Canada check in at Fort Lauderdale

Does anyone know what time the Air Canada counter opens for check-in at the Fort Lauderdale airport? I recall getting there once and there were no agents at the counter until a few hours before the flight (around noon). Would appreciate finding out if this is still the current case if anyone knows. ...

Air Canada flight attendants concerned about Ebola

http://montreal.ctvnews.ca/air-canad...bola-1.2056639 Flight attendants who work for Air Canada want the airline to issue an official notice with proper safety protocols to take in case they run into a passenger who may have contracted Ebola. Attendants say they are at risk since they constantly handle glasses, utensils and plates that have come in contact with saliva from passengers. Their union wrote to management on Oct. 10 to ask that glove-wearing become mandatory, and to be informed of ...

Air Canada flight attendants to wear gloves against Ebola

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/air-...bola-1.2801951 "All Air Canada flight attendants will be able to wear disposable gloves to help protect themselves from the risk of contact with the Ebola virus. The country's largest carrier said it had no objection to a request from the union representing cabin crews to don hand protection on all flights when collecting passenger waste, such as cups or diapers, that could carry saliva or other body fluids contaminated with the deadly virus." ...
