Mythmaker's Nature Learning Journey...

Hi all!

Maybe a handful of you might remember that I posted some zoo photos some time ago. The truth is, I haven't finish processing them (It's been 8 months)! :bsmilie:

But I decided to create a new thread instead, with a new title. Hence with a more generic title, I can consolidate everything into this thread whenever I shoot something that's nature in nature (sounds weird ) instead of restricting to just zoo photos like the previous one.

Hopefully this will be a long thread! Any C&C is greatly welcomed, as I don't usually shoot wildlife :D

What to do after learning C language?

Hi! Few days ago, I had learned C language. It took me almost 8 to 10 months to learn the whole language. Now I wanna want to make real world applications using it. I'm an Ubuntu user or more generally a Linux user. The point to ponder is that I don't know how to create an application. I can efficiently read and write C code, but do not know how to write full fledged applications in it. I want to know how to write GUI applications for Linux. I was thinking of creating a GUI text editor in C...

Learning a new language

Hi all I have been teaching myself the basics to Spanish for a few months now and feel confident with the progress I have made. I have a reasonable grasp on the basics but now obviously want to take it to the next level so that I can work towards being fluent - I fully appreciate this will take some time. Has anyone here learnt a new language recently and therefore could offer some advice? I'm thinking about signing up to something like Rosetta Stone but I'm not sure if that's the best way to ...

Learning to drive a manual car, 7 hours in - considering automatic

I am currently learning to drive in a manual car.   I've had 7x 1h lessons and I am still struggling with the clutch and gears. I don't really understand them.   A large part of me doesn't care about understanding them. I just want to drive.   I know automatic cars are more expensive to buy and maintain, as well as the lessons being more expensive.   Apparently the average amount of hours it takes to pass a driving test (I presume this is based on manual lessons) is 40 hours ...

Learning about time machine the hard way... help needed.

Dear people, I have created what might be an interesting problem. Bear with me, as there are a lot of things to mention: - Some years ago, I used to have a MacBook Pro for work. I backed it up using time machine, on an external USB harddrive. - Then I changed jobs. I got a new MacBook Pro. Instead of reconfiguring Time Machine I manually copied some important files to the external drive every now and then. - At some point I decided to get some cheap LiveDrive online storage. I cannot direct...

same train journey, £20 cheaper.

Today I needed to take the train from West Yorkshire to Nottingham at short notice. I didn't have time to go online, just turned up at the train station. The nice man on the desk told me that the route I thought I wanted to take (from my home station to Leeds, change at Leeds for a train direct to Nottingham) was quite expensive, and it would be cheaper for me to go from home - Leeds - Sheffield - Nottingham. The more direct route would have cost me £45, the route he suggested was £26 - but he...
