[Suggestion] Save pilot and scrap mission bug. on Kerbal Space Program

I took a mission to recover a Kerbal and their scrap and it turns out the "scrap" was a %&£~#@!* science lab @ 3.5 tonnes so I got the Kerbal back safely but because I had come prepared for a capsule the science lab was 3x too heavy and the craft toppled in the water landing and the act of toppling destroyed the science lab, at which point I didn't get the reward for rescuing the pilot but I did get mission fail for breaking the lab.

The mission archive shows "recover Jauna Kerman on kerbin" as "incomplete" when this is not true and she landed safely and I got notification than she joined my astronauts. So mission fail conditions are broken. The recover "scrap" element showed "failed" which is correct. So failing the scrap recovery broke the recognition of the other mission element. So the condition logic is wrong somewhere.

Also I would like to comment that the mission conditions should warn us about larger objects. The tracking station showed simply that it was a Size A "smallest" object. I don't think a Science lab is the same size as a capsule, shouldn't there be something to indicate the weight or at least the size?

[Support] Quick save and revert to launch bug 0.25 on Kerbal Space Program

I have no idea what the hell is happening, but when ever I load a quick save or revert to launch my ships breaks, the staging disappears and is moved out of frame, The ship breaks in half so only the command pod and parachutes remain, but when I time warp it fixes itself The only time this happens is when I was in an 80km orbit around kerbin, I haven't needed to load or revert outside of it though so I don't know if it would happen. Reverting to the VAB or SPH and then launching again do...

[Suggestion] Quick save and quick load shortcuts on Kerbal Space Program

The amount of times I've accidentally hit Alt-F4 because my finger slipped. From a UX perspective, the difference between a typo in intention should not be "you get exactly what you want or you get catastrophic failure". Please, for the love of kerbin, change the quick save short cut to Ctrl-S ...

[Suggestion] Separate program to create planets for each save file on Kerbal Space Program

If such a thing does not already exist, how difficult would it be to create a program that allows users to generate a planet (based on parameters like the ones in-game follow) that could then be added into the Kerbol system at a adjustable height/velocity, etc.? ...

[Suggestion] Require specific career mission completion to unlock tech on Kerbal Space Program

As a way to stop the vast flow of nearly-free Science from weird and wonderful random contracts, it might be worth pinning tech tree items to specific milestones via research credits. So you can still get the tech without achieving the goals, but it's harder. It'd help if unmanned launches were possible *before* manned launches. Achieved your first suborbital flight? Gee, maybe we should be able to recover those not just leave a pretty crater, lets work on craft recovery systems. Reached 20,0...

[Suggestion] In-game support for mods, save and .craft file sharing on Kerbal Space Program

I kinda did a thread like this a while back but, It was locked since I moved it to a discussion, and now that discussion is long dead. So here is, I think we should adopt space engineers' sharing system with curse.com as our "workshop" since not all KSP installs are on steam. Space engineers knocked it out of the park for mod support. I should provide an argument, but the video speaks for itself. No more ram issues as this system only loads the mod if it is enabled in that specific sa...

[Suggestion] Mission control, kerbal lan party on Kerbal Space Program

hello, I find that working in local lan party is the top of that KSP has to offer. I suggest the development of a mod or an integrated feature would be the ability to learn from what is being done: "Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator". A full crew is required to perform all tasks of a mission, I think it's a really interesting aspect, isn't it? Thanks a lot. ...

[Unanswered] Career mode Mission bug? on Kerbal Space Program

Hi and thanks. I've completed 4 of the easy missions in career mode but seem to be having a problem with the mission that involves using a decoupler (the something-something 18—one of the first ones, if not actually THE first decoupler). I've went into orbit with the decoupler, went around Kerbin (or the whatever the home planet of the Kerbals is called) a few times, and used the decoupler to, well, decouple my engine after burning to a reentry trajectory. After landing successfully two of the p...

[Suggestion] Mission Planning on Kerbal Space Program

Seeing as though Fine Print is currently being integrated in to KSP it gave me an idea on how we could improve the game. Fine Print has some pretty cool visualisations of target orbits and the like; assuming these make it through the integration in to stock why not put them to use for other purposes such as mission planning? Below is a rough outline on how it could be done: Create a new scene that is outwardly very similar to the current tracking station. Lets call this the Mission Development...

[Suggestion] Angle-to-Horizon control for new Pilot SAS skills on Kerbal Space Program

This suggestion is fairly simple. There needs to be a setting to allow our vessels to set and hold a specific Angle-to-Horizon through the new Pilot skills that Squad is introducing. So far, from what they've shown us, there's no indication this will be a part of 0.90 Otherwise, a polar-expedition mission like THIS becomes long, slow, and incredibly boring (have you TRIED manually controlling Angle-of-Attack of a plane in KSP for multiple real-life hours?) It took an hour just to cross a s...

[Suggestion] Steam Cloud for save files and maybe mods if you can on Kerbal Space Program

Hey there ksp crew, I'm playing the game on 2 pcs and I forgot to upload my saves and mods this time so I cant continue my Kerbin's journey :( I noticed that there is an option in steam for cloud uploads (Skyrim uses it, works really good), do you think you can get it in your system? Thanks a lot, Maor :) ...

[Suggestion] For 0.90+: Mission Control instructions on Kerbal Space Program

Since SAS will be reduced in ability and Kerbalnauts will be relative "noobs" until much later, perhaps as a way to help new players, mission control can periodically send up instructions as part of the beginning career flights. i.e. rather than letting the player figure out that they have to burn parallel to the horizon and not just "up" as many new players are likely to do, have messages pop up on screen like "You are almost out of fuel, press space to stage!" ...

[Suggestion] [Bug Report?] KSP cannot load contents of folders that contain the "#" symbol in Win on Kerbal Space Program

I figured this out with the help of Red5, Cactus, and others in Kiwi chat. I don't know that I would of figured this out otherwise. I went to install a second instance of KSP on my system after the first. Using only the mods KAS and KW Rocketry (these are the same two mods that are used in the first game install). Whenever I would launch a ship in the second game, I would get error messages telling me that the mod's sound files could not be loaded; this was also reflected in the gameplay (no...

[Suggestion] Remove Plant a Flag Mission or make a one-shot (exploration item) on Kerbal Space Program

I know Fine Print is coming in .090, but the procedural basis of the current contract system has a remarkably easily abusable loophole. "Plant a Flag on X" If you've got a Kerbal at X, you can just decline bad missions (like test underwater seamonkeys splashed on Moho) until this repops. Then, transfer to ship, pop out, plant flag. Recover Flag. Repeat for endless science and profit. Science and what not missions at least usually require you to do something, even if it's transmit...

[Suggestion] Specify orbit direction in mission description for "probe in set orbit" contracts on Kerbal Space Program

Pretty simple request, but a reasonable one. As it stands, you don't really know whether the orbit they want is prograde or retrograde until you go to the tracking station to check (which is a bit of a pain in the butt as well, but would be trickier to fix). It could save a lot of trouble and horribly inefficient U-turns in orbit if we knew before we launched which way the contract expected us to be launching the probe in. It would also help steer us away from accepting a contract and prepari...
